COVID-19 Information

We’ve been so grateful for the outpouring of support we’ve gotten from our community over the past year— truly, we’d be lost without you. We’ve missed our clients so much and we can’t wait to see each and every one of you again. If you follow us on social media, you’ll know that we’re reopening on the 26th of May at limited capacity. A lot of our clients have asked for more detail about our new safety protocols, and in an effort to be transparent with you, we’d love to provide more information so you can feel safe.

Please be patient with us! We’re all in uncharted waters right now, and all these are subject to change at any time. We promise to be respectful of your needs and concerns, and we’re going to do our best to keep the Underpinnings experience fun, affirming, and lighthearted.

Cleaning, Sanitizing, and More Cleaning

We’ve always prided ourselves on keeping our store neat and clean, but we’re about to take that to the next level. After each client, we’ll sanitize the dressing room, measuring tapes, the checkout counter, and the door handles. We ask that you let us serve you and refrain from touching garments as you browse the shop, though we will steam any unpurchased garments that you’ve tried on before restocking them. Our bathroom will not be open to clients at this time to keep our store room as sanitary as possible. We will have hand sanitizer at multiple points throughout the shop and we ask that you make liberal use of it. Lastly, we’re discontinuing our customary drink service until further notice.

Personal Protective Equipment and Transmission Prevention

Every staff member will wear a mask at all times, and we ask that you do the same. If you don’t have a mask when you arrive, we’ll have some extras available. Per new regulation, we’ll have contactless temperature checks at the door. If at any point in the past fourteen days, you’ve experiencing any symptoms or have had exposure to someone who has had symptoms themselves, we’d ask that you please stay home! Your safety and the safety of our team is our top priority, and there is never a penalty for cancelling your appointment.

Keeping Six Feet of Distance

We’re not a very big shop, and we want to make sure everyone has enough room to feel safe. We’re limiting the number of people in the store at any time, and in an effort to prevent crowding, we ask that you come to your appointment alone. If the store is at capacity, we’ll have a bench outside the front door for you so you can wait comfortably and we’ll call you in when it’s your turn. If you hate to wait, make an appointment so we can be sure you’ll have your turn at a time that is convenient for you! We know that this has been a fun day with friends or a significant other in the past, and we’re sorry we can’t accommodate that right now.; we hope to be able to welcome small groups again soon.
